Academy Mortgage partnered with us to help erect a house for an elderly woman who was chosen by caseworkers. In addition to providing tools and labor, we did a scavenger hunt around town with the goal of supporting local businesses and providing a sense of joy to the town that was still covered in a cloud of sadness and tragedy. The scavenger hunt had the volunteers filling gas tanks for strangers who were fire survivors, purchasing food for a local food bank and tools for the town’s
lending library.
